Where Does Any Czar get the Power Over the People?

Here a czar, there a czar, and now they have the power? The power to what? The power from whom? Under what Constitutional section?

I just don't understand how a czar appointed by Obama can appear to do just what he pleases with no oversight by anyone-- including the President.

This story clearly demonstrates how bizarre our land of the free has become.....

Unbelievable! Pay Czar cut executives’ compensation without White House approval

VWV Note: Oh reallllllyyyy? Ummm, do you think the White House has a strong gut feeling that the czars wouldn't pass muster even with a democratic controlled Congress? With all the allegations the Czars face when their pasts are delved into, I think I would be ashamed to have them looked at as well. But then, I never would have appointed them.

He Doth Protest Too Much

Van Jones, the Green Czar, submitted his resignation late last night.

In his letter, Jones is quick to say opponents of reform are using lies and deception against him. Why did he feel the need to insert that paragraph in the letter? Isn't that being just a tad bit argumentative?

All the documented evidence shows clearly the leanings and take home message of Mr. Jones in his past. Perhaps, he should have just said, "I resign my post." By adding the next argumentative sentence, he becomes the man who doth protest too much.

Whose past will surface to haunt the White House now? Just wondering.

The Web Justs Keep Getting More Tangled for White House

What a week for the White House. The webs they keep weaving up there are just getting more and more tangled.

First, the cry from Americans over the White House plan for Tuesday's little chat with the children has forced the changing of the words. Now, they keep trying to say they just weren't accurate in their words. No kidding. There's a big difference from letter to president on how children can help him to stating their educational goals. I just wonder what kind of letter a first grader would write?

And now, the green czar of deception. Oops. The documentation has been found showing he was on the organizing committee for the Truthers in 2002. Another chance for the White House to try and spin this one away.

Yep, the web of deception becomes more and more tangled. That's ok. It's looks like the web's strings just weren't strong enough and now they are unraveling. Bet there's more to come.

Busted. Van Jones Linked to 9-11 Truther Movement Back in **January 2002**

Yesterday, news broke out that Barack Obama's communist Green Czar was a 9-11 Truther. The administration much later in the day released a statement saying Van Jones was "not now or ever" involved in the 9-11 Truther movement.

Jones said the petition he signed in 2004 did not reflect his views and that he did not carefully review the language in the petition before agreeing to add his name..

White House Wants Your Video on Health Reform

Just thought you'd want to know the White House is asking for your videos on why health care reform is important. So, perhaps we should all make videos showing why the current health care reform bill is so wrong for America and what could be done for effective health care reform? Start with tort reform?

Oh yes, and once again, this is a spam email from the White House. This time, it's from the Office of Health Reform. Gee, I didn't know that was an official office.

Are You Listening? Support of Health Care Reform Bill Down- Again

VWV Note: All recent and new polls continue to show Americans do not want the current health care reform bill passed. Will Congress listen to those who elected them? The recent interest in town hall meetings and record numbers of Americans showing up in vain to try and get their questions answered demonstrates the passion of both sides of the debate. Some Congressmen won't even have public forums on the subject. The big question is "Of whom are they afraid?"

Why does the White House think they have to continue to sell the bill with more campaign-like strategies? If the health care bill is good, it will stand on its own two feet.

If not, revisit the drawing board and devise a health care reform bill that doesn't make the majority of Americans "sick" when they read it.


Support for Dems’ Government Takeover of Health Care Continues to Plummet

The more the American people learn about the Democrats’ proposed government takeover of health care that will increase costs, destroy jobs, and put bureaucrats in charge of medical decisions instead of patients and doctors, the more they oppose it. No fewer than five polls released at the end of July showed increasing concern, if not outright, opposition to the Democrats’ government-run health care plan. A Quinnipiac University Poll last week also indicates that a majority disapprove (52) of the President’s handling of health care, while only 39 approve - a 10 percentage point jump in the last month alone.

Today, a new Rasmussen poll shows Americans’ opposition to the Dems’ government-run health care plan is still increasing:

“Public support for the health care reform plan proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats has fallen to a new low as just 42% of U.S. voters now favor the plan. That’s down five points from two weeks ago and down eight points from six weeks ago.”

“A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that opposition to the plan has increased to 53%, up nine points since late June.”

“More significantly, 44% of voters strongly oppose the health care reform effort versus 26% who strongly favor it. Intensity has been stronger among opponents of the plan since the debate began.”

The American people support real health care reform – a plan that reduces costs and expands access to quality care. The Democrats’ proposal does neither, and that’s why they are seeing the mounting opposition firsthand back in their congressional districts. House Republicans have offered a better solution that addresses Americans’ concerns about out-of-control health care costs. The House GOP plan would make quality health care coverage more affordable and accessible for every American, regardless of pre-existing health conditions. For example, the plan:

•Lets small businesses band together through associations and purchase health insurance for workers at a lower cost just like large corporations and unions do.

•Offers incentives to help Americans who do not have access to quality health care get the coverage they can afford.

Saving Our Environment 36 Years Ago

Time flies by so fast. It seems just like yesterday when my science teacher tried to impress upon our young minds that we had to protect the earth. There was even a program run from the White House on Environmental Protection.

So, I planted trees on the school property which have seen been chopped down, picked up trash, started a backyard compost pile-- all in the name of the environment.

Here we are today. Still the same battle cry exists. Only it appears to be so much more savvy today. That's ok. My Certificate of Merit for Environmental Protection hangs proudly with some of my other life achievements.

The date? 1973 and yep, it has the signature of President Richard M. Nixon on it.

Such Good Intentions

Intentions can be good. They can be bad. We've all had intentions that did not go as we planned. Or at least, some will say, "I didn't mean to do it." Kind of sounds like something children will say when they get caught.

Just look at me. I had every intention of completing my ironing today. Oops.

I have been interested in watching the new President as he begins his administration. First, I am dismayed that one of his first acts in these troubling economic times is to send our taxpayer dollars overseas. The cause is to assist poorer countries with abortion. Now, I am not one to say whether abortion is good or bad. I truly believe the matter is one of self reflection and religious beliefs. For me, had I ever been in that spot, I most likely would not have had one. But I can't say for sure even with all my intentions.

Another early hot topic for the President was to freeze his senior White House Staff pay. First, they have only been on the job for 24 hours, so isn't that kind of silly? How many companies will tell you on the first day that they've frozen your pay? Are (Were) you really expecting a pay increase that fast?

I went online and found the actual order. It's interesting as the media proclaimed he had frozen the pay. If you read the actual order, it clearly states that it is his INTENTION to do so.

All he has to do is what an unruly child does and say, "I didn't mean to do it."

You can walk the walk, or talk the talk, but you still have to prove you can do it.

Time, America, time.
